Guerilla planting and grafting are secret, subversive activities that some hardcore fruit enthusiasts engage in.

They plant fruit trees in public spaces or graft edible fruit varieties on decorative fruit trees (which don't bear fruits) often planted in public spaces.

Most of these plants do not fare well in California: they dry out, barely surviving and becoming pest-breeding reservoirs.

Cuckoo planting and grafting is a bit different: we planting in spaces where plants are taken care of. Our Bethany Curve planting is a good example of this type of planting - we asked if they would like some exotic plants added - and they said yes. Thi scenario improves the odds that exotic plants will be taken care of - and thus have a better chance of surviving.
